Samsung has just announced the release of a new phone model packed with some basic features that will only prove useful and not impress anyone. Samsung J608 takes all the classic Anycall features that Samsung has used until now in its handsets, with no innovation.

Samsung Anycall J608 has the same old slider form factor that this producer seems to prefer above any other ones. It has the classic shape with straight corners and no rounded lines. Moreover, it uses the concept of simplicity at its best, with no expense to design details.

The new slider has given up old fashioned function keys for heat recognition ones. Samsung Anycall J608 will come in two colors in order to appeal to both sexes. The black one would have been just enough, as there probably are too many pink mobile phones already. The black version suits this handset best, with an excellent display of elegance.

The phone proves to be quite compact, although its thickness will not break any records, at the sizes of 97.8 x 44.8 x 15.2 mm and almost 100 grams in weight. These dimensions are pretty average, just as all the other specifications for this phone prove to be.

Samsung J608 has a 1.9 inch display screen, capable of supporting a resolution of only 128 x 160 pixels. There are many other slider phones out there capable of topping that, just as the 1.3 megapixel camera on this phone has also been long surpassed by many others.

The phone is capable of providing support for a large number of media files and also packs a microSD card slot for making sure that the user has enough data storage space. Connectivity is available through Bluetooth and USB, as well as GPRS.

The phone has just been announced by Samsung and will soon hit the Chinese market, where the Anycall brand stands for Samsung handsets. The price that this device will be available for has not been revealed yet.
