The tablets aim to make ordering another round easier

Back in January, we told you that coffee giant Illy had partnered up with Samsung in order to bring a selection of tablets into their coffee shops. Glutton partnerships like this between food/beverage chains and tech giants are not exactly news, and now Buffalo Wild Wings is reportedly ready to join the technological era.

Buffalo Wild Wings is a popular American restaurant chain that attracts countless hungry customers every day.

And because they are super busy catering to the needs of every foodie crossing their door step, Buffalo Wild Wings is looking to incorporate tablets to help with the ordering process in all restaurant locations.

The slates will be mainly used for placing orders for food and drinks. But that's not all, the fun part comes while you wait for your delicious dishes to be served, as you’ll be able to play games and tap into a whole set of entertainment software.

Normally, every Buffalo Wild Wing place is fitted with loads of giant flat-screen TVs, but this might not appeal to everybody. Tablets, on the other hand, could provide the perfect way to engage users, thus making them spend more in the process.

Buffalo Wild Wings has already tested the concept in a pilot program and the results showed that customers liked it very much. This led them to the conclusion that they should be implementing tablets in each restaurant across the country.

But don’t expect to walk in your local Buffalo joint and find a tablet waiting for you at your favorite table. By 2015, the restaurant chain hopes to have implemented the project in every location, but we’re not provided with a road-map of that. Busier restaurant are probably going to receive the tablet treatment first, or at least this is what would make sense to us.

If you’re wondering about the sort of tablets you will be treated with, the answer is Android tablets manufactured by Samsung. They are going to be 7-inch slates running an OS platform that has been dubbed BEOND, which is a tweaked Android version.

The interface will probably integrate Buffalo’s own ordering app, but apart from that it sounds like one can do pretty much with them, including tapping into the goodness of the Google Play Store.

Buffalo Wild Wings teases its upcoming tablet service in a video, showing that the system even allows customers to pay the bill or request a channel change on the big screen TV located in the restaurant.
