14 DAY TRIAL // Samantha Ronson and Lindsay Lohan ended their troubled romance on far from amicable terms and have exchanged words even after they were no longer together, which, again, were not exactly friendly. Yet that’s not to say Ronson is about to stand aside and watch as her former lover is trashed by Joan Rivers, precisely now that she (Lindsay) is about to come to terms with her jail sentence, Us Magazine informs.
After Lohan was sentenced to 90 days in jail for parole violation and in light of her much mediated fingernail, which many saw as an insult directed at the presiding judge, Rivers took to Twitter to crack a few jokes at Lindsay’s expense. Granted, Rivers wouldn’t be the first one to do so since the judge told the actress she must do both prison time and rehab, but she is definitely the most public figure of the lot. This, and a certain sense of injustice being done to her ex, prompted Ronson to put Rivers back in her place, also on Twitter.
“I was just reading about the new Lindsay Lohan diet, which is all liquid. 80 Proof,” Rivers tweeted, cracking a joke about Lohan’s DUIs. “Lindsay Lohan is so dumb. Her idea of being sworn in is cursing at the judge. Lindsay Lohan said she wouldn’t mind being under oath because she thought Oath was a Norwegian ski instructor,” the comedienne, also occasionally referred to as the Queen of Mean, also wrote. While Lindsay chose not to respond to the provocation, Samantha could not keep quiet.
“Hey Joan Rivers. You have collagen older than Lindsay, pick on someone your own age, oh wait I guess people that old can’t hear,” Ronson tweeted, aiming for the kill and hitting Rivers where it most hurts her: her love for plastic surgery. Joan is yet to fight back and respond to this, but Lindsay has already tweeted her gratitude for the chivalrous gesture with a simple “Thank you ;).”
One explanation for why Lindsay is keeping so quiet these days could be found in an ongoing rumor about how she stands to make an estimated $1 million for her post-jail interview. If that be the case, it would only make sense if she kept a low profile until then so as to raise the value of the interview to the max.
