About four years ago, in the aftermath of Mel Gibson’s much mediated DUI arrest and subsequent anti-Semite rant, Joan Rivers went on the record to call for a boycott against the director and actor, saying he should just crawl into a hole and die (in more or less polite terms). As a new video from TMZ shows, Rivers hasn’t yet had a change of heart about Gibson.

Paparazzi caught up with the outspoken star at the airport and, of course, used the opportunity to check whether she was aware that Gibson had reportedly split from the mother of his eighth baby, Russian aspiring singer, Oksana Grigorieva. Yes, Rivers had heard the two were no longer an item, but no personal problem Gibson might have would prevent her from hating him.

“Apparently, Joan Rivers is still upset at Mel Gibson... because she not only thinks he should ‘[expletive]-ing die’... but she also wants everyone to boycott the hell out of his movies,” TMZ writes in a short post accompanying the video. The reason why she still hates him is that he is a racist who shouldn’t be making money by selling movies to the same audiences he so much despises, Rivers explains for the paps. Because of this, she’d love it if people would stop seeing his productions, she adds, calling for a boycott.

Gibson is not the only celebrity to fall victim to Rivers’ outspokenness, though he did do so twice in less than 5 years. Just recently, Victoria Beckham was targeted too, being branded vulgar and shameless for owning and parading around the world with expensive Birkin bags on her arm when people continued to die of starvation in poor countries. It’s one thing to be rich, but it’s an entirely different matter to shamelessly flaunt it for the cameras, she said.

“Victoria Beckham should get a life. I’m not a fan of outrageous consumption. I think it is vulgar. And no-one should flaunt that they have a hundred Hermes £6,000 bags. Not when people are starving. Everyone should be allowed to have a great time but she shows a distinct lack of class,” Rivers said of Victoria in February this year. A so-called friend of the former Posh Spice came to her defense, issuing one of the most unintentionally funny statements ever to see the light of day in print. “Victoria does not own hundreds of Hermes bags. She actually has 34,” the “friend” said.
