Sacred 2: Fallen Angel is really shaping up to be an interesting title, promising to put players in the shoes of six character classes, all with their own, very much customized stories. It will be a prequel to the very popular Sacred RPG (Role Play Game), which sold almost 2 million copies since its launch in 2004. The game, although criticized for resembling the benchmark Diablo titles way too much, has won its fair share of fans who are now eagerly anticipating this new title, set to hit the store shelves in a PC version on November 7 in Europe and on the 11th in the United States.

Although console versions, for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 are under development, there are no clear details regarding their release dates. Recently, in an effort to set at least a time frame in which console owners should expect to get their hands on the anticipated RPG, Ascaron, the developer of the game, has made a statement concerning the possible release date for the two consoles.

"We have committed ourselves to offering gamers nothing but top quality. In order to be able to further optimize the online components of the console versions, and ensure a simultaneous release world-wide, we have chosen to aim for this release date for the console versions," says Heiko tom Felde, CEO of Ascaron.

This worldwide release date is somewhere in the first quarter of 2009, with rumors stating that, sometime in February, the console owners might get to see their highly awaited title on store shelves worldwide.

For those of you who don't know, Sacred 2: Fallen Angel is promising some very interesting features for a RPG. First of all, there will be no character level limit, which means that you’ll be able to choose what quests you want to solve. Also, a massive open world is set for you to explore, with the promise of absolutely no loading times between different realms. As with many RPGs, you will have two choices in the exploration of the map and the story – light, meaning good, or shadow, on the bad side.
