SOCOM: Confrontation has been out for a while, both available in brick and mortar stores and online via the PlayStation Store. Although the game is only available on the PlayStation 3, it has attracted quite a following, so the problems it has have been magnified and driven to the attention of the developers.

The good news is that they are now working on a patch that should address all the issues that players have been busy reporting. Because of the level of interest in SOCOM: Confrontation, game servers were overwhelmed in the first few days. That problem has not yet been solved, and there's enough capacity to accommodate a huge number of players. It seems that as many as 100,000 players are logging in every day to play SOCOM Confrontation, for on average period of a bit over 3 hours, while adding up to more than 300,000 hours of the game played in just one day. Those are truly staggering numbers.

There are still plans to roll out more server updates, during the scheduled downtime sessions, which are usually 20 to 30 minutes long. However, the focus is starting to shift towards creating a new patch that will address issues of the player side of the game. The patch is now in extensive testing in order to make sure it does not introduce new bugs and, when launched, it will probably make disconnects a thing of the past.

Seth Luisi, director of development on SOCOM: Confrontation, has also said that Trophies will be introduced via another future patch, and that new content might also be in the works. If you like SOCOM, then make sure that you offer clear and correct feedback so that all problems regarding the game can be solved as quickly as possible, in order to have it at its best.
