But they will eventually. Attitude alone doesn't do the trick

Looks like the PSP is getting cheaper everywhere else in the world 'cept for Australia. What, is Sony hoping to make record PSP sales here to cover PS3 poor demand? Blokes over at gaming site Kotaku were thoughtful enough to ask SCE Australia, why they're not considering a price cut for the handheld here too? SCE Aussie replied quickly: "...we are evaluating the market and will make price adjustments in line with local business plans." Oh yeah, that's just what everybody wants to hear.

Let's evaluate the three major console manufacturers' typical statements, shall we? First of all, Nintendo: This is a Nintendo official, answering to Gamestop's Wii shortage cry: "No, that's not at all the case. We have worldwide territories that are all competing over the available production. The Japan and European markets are doing extremely well with the Wii." They're teaching winner attitude at Nintendo, besides how to make good games and consoles.

Next, we have Microsoft officials on Xbox Live fraud: "Recently, there have been reports of fraudulent activity and account theft taking place on the Xbox Live network. Security is a top priority for Xbox Live, and we are actively investigating all reports of fraudulent behavior and theft." Microsoft's always on top of the issue, even if investigations haven't even begun. Nonetheless, attitude is a top quality with Microsoft's officials too.

Last, but not least, Sony. Every time Sony's asked questions like "Are you dropping the 20GB PS3?" or "How's the PS3 doing in Europe?" they always put on a happy face, pretending that the PS3 is doing great and that they're not worried of the console not making a comeback. More than that, they speculate every second, waiting until the last moment to make a breaking announcement shifting the Earth's poles. But most of all, just like its rivals, Sony makes due with attitude. Even if the PS3 lags way behind the Wii and Xbox 360, Sony's optimistic throwing the 80GB PS3 in the front line.

PSP price cut in Australia? Yes, eventually.
