14 DAY TRIAL // At the Golden Globes 2014, Emma Thompson made no secret of how much she hated wearing high heels so, at the Screen Actors Guild Awards 2014 over the weekend, she rocked a fierce pair of flats on the red carpet.
Some industry watchers are actually shocked that she would do that, but I think she pulled it off, while looking just as fabulous, if not actually more, than her fellow actresses.
Click on the image above to see it in full. Joining Emma was Meryl Streep, looking extremely stylish and comfortable in a Stella McCartney simple black dress. Meanwhile, Emma wore a vintage 1930s dress, which she matched with sparkly Louboutins.
Both proved that getting red carpet ready doesn’t necessarily have to mean torturing yourself to fit into dresses you can’t breathe in or wearing shoes that make you want to cry every time you take a step.
Emma told reporters at the star of the evening that she had promised herself she would behave but, as the Daily Mail points out, she didn’t really keep her word. She photobombed Lupita Nyong’o and then went in for a kiss and a hug, made faces at photographers, and flirted heavily with Jeremy Renner and Bryan Cranston for the cameras.
She also danced with Ewan McGregor on stage and was, in short, the life of the party.
