Only 10 mm thick

After different leaked images with Nokia E71 (accompanied by contradictory details), the next Eseries flagship could be officially presented tomorrow, on the 8th of May.

Several websites from the Netherlands already list the E71 - without its official pictures, but with what seem to be its official specs. According to these specs, Nokia E71 comes in a smaller case than its predecessor, the E61i model, which was released more than one year ago. The new smartphone measures only 112 x 57 x 10 millimeters (4.41 x 2.24 x 0.39 inches) and weighs 120 grams (4.23 ounces). In this very slim case the Finnish manufacturer seems to have packed enough features to make E71 the most evolved Eseries device to date.

If the features surfaced until now are correct, Nokia E71 will be offering a 320 x 320 pixel display (most probably with 16 million colors, as all the latest high-end Nokia phones), GSM, UMTS and HSDPA connectivity, GPS, Nokia Maps, Wi-Fi, Music and Video players, Bluetooth, USB and a 3.2 Megapixel camera with flash, auto focus and video. The handset's internal memory is unknown for the moment, but we suspect it's a decent one, at least.

Of course, Nokia E71 will be running on the latest Symbian S60 OS and will pack a full QWERTY keyboard for easy text input. If all the above specs turn out to be true and a powerful battery is also included, the E71 has all the chances to be a huge hit in the business-oriented mobile market.

At the moment, there are no details regarding E71's availability, but the smartphone will surely have an European version, as well as one to work on the North American 3G networks.

We'll see tomorrow if the E71 is indeed ready to hit the market anytime soon. If it is, we'll also see the first official images with it, as the ones currently available might not show the real face of the handset.
