Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion is already known to come to the market during the ongoing year with a second version of its first and only touchscreen-enabled BlackBerry device, the Storm. While the presence of Storm 2 in RIM's plans is no mystery, there are no details on when the handset might arrive on the market, and the latest rumors point towards October 25 as one of the possible launch dates.

Rumors on Storm 2 coming to the market this fall have emerged on the Web before, only that this time they seem more close to the “in time for the holiday season” launch window RIM unveiled for the device earlier. According to BGR, BlackBerry Storm 2 dummy units are expected to come to Best Buy locations as soon as October 25 is here, which means that Verizon Wireless, the carrier expected to release the Storm 2 on its airwaves, might have it officially available for purchase around that time.

The piece on BGR also says that the actual retail units of the device are to emerge in Best Buy's inventories either a little before or a little after the dummies arrive, so the launch day should be quite close to October 25, in case the rumor pans out. As it always happens with this kind of tidbits of info, there are no official details here, but only a leaked screenshot that supposedly backs up the story.

Along with the possible availability date for the handset, some pieces of information on its price tag also emerged, pointing towards $599 as the cost BlackBerry Storm 2 will feature in full retail. With a service agreement, the handset should go for much less, most probably something between $200 and $300. Nothing is official here either, only our suppositions, yet all should come to light in the very near future, in case Verizon indeed plans on releasing the device in a little more than three weeks from now, so stay tuned to learn more details on the matter.
