Luis might be the main character

Grand Theft Auto is one of the most popular franchises out there, as it has entertained fans for a long time, thanks to its immersive gameplay and intricate stories, which intertwine when you least expect it. It happened in GTA III and its subsequent follow-up titles, Vice City and San Andreas, where, if you paid attention, you could find a lot of interesting things, and it will also happen in GTA IV.

As most of you know, Rockstar will release two pieces of DLC (Downloadable Content) consisting of expansions to the blockbuster that was GTA IV. Exclusive to the Xbox 360, the first of the two episodes, entitled The Lost and Damned, will feature a member of Liberty City's The Lost biker gang, Johnny Klebitz. While the fact that he will be the star came as a bit of a surprise to industry analysts, the fans were already suspecting Rockstar's choice, as Johnny came into contact a few times with Niko Bellic, the main character of GTA IV.

Now, the same fans have another theory, one regarding the main character of the second episode of DLC, which will appear at a much later date. Most of the people who played GTA IV remember that during the “Museum Piece” mission you meet up with Johnny Klebitz, for an exchange of diamonds with some Jewish people, which is interrupted by a Dominican drug dealer named Luis Fernando Lopez. Now this doesn't sound like much, considering the fact that Niko meets almost half of Liberty City in the game, but once the mission is completed, you unlock the Impossible Trinity achievement.

This is, according to fans, clear evidence that Rockstar had already planned the main character of the GTA IV experience, as Niko, in the full game, Johnny in the first episode, and Luis in the second one, will all be controlled by the players in their own releases. Now while this may seem just rumors made up by hardcore fans, it looks like Rockstar wasn't so quick to disprove them.

Speaking with GameTrailers TV, Rockstar's Jeronimo Barrera neither denied nor confirmed the rumors. When presented with the fan theory, he only said that the fans really did connect a lot of dots to reach that conclusion, and only time would tell what character would be featured in the second piece of DLC.

While the theory and the lack of a concrete response from Rockstar may not seem important, let's not forget that the company really plans ahead, and there might be a decent chance for gamers to play as Luis in the future expansion to GTA IV, but, considering this is Rockstar we’re talking about, the chance to play as a Jewish diamond dealer might also be possible. Until then, look forward to playing as Johnny in The Lost and Damned, which will hit the stores on February 17.
