Halo: Reach is touted by Microsoft as the biggest videogame of 2010 and as Bungie is preparing to leave the series with a bang, it will certainly aim to introduce as many innovative gameplay changes as possible in the new title featuring Spartans. And now fresh screenshots of Halo: Reach have appeared accompanied by a variety of rumors related to how various players will be able to customize their load out and about another way of using stealth.

The screenshots, two of which you can see attached to this article, are slated to appear in the February issue of Game Informer, which is now hitting newsstands, and also appeared on the site of EB Games before being quickly taken down. They seem to add further credibility to the idea that Halo: Reach will be based around squad combat, with the various Spartans fulfilling tactical roles based on their equipment.

Bungie is said to be working on a system based around Armor Abilities, which function like the load outs in other first person shooters. Gamers will be able to select the role they would be interested in performing on the battlefield and will then choose abilities, kind of like perks, that can be earned and traded between players.

There are also rumors about the introduction of a new Murder Mode to Halo: Reach that will allow a cunning gamer to sneak up on an enemy and then take them out without revealing their position to the other enemies in the area.

The new “super secret multiplayer mode,” which Bungie was teasing around Christmas time might be based around this new Murder Mode. Bungie has not yet commented on the rumors but more information about Halo: Reach is bound to come up as the year progresses and as Microsoft begins to build hype for the videogame.
