HTC (High Tech Computer) is expected to unveil some new devices as soon as June 24, as the company announced that it would hold a press event in London on that day, and some of the rumors pointed towards a possible release of the HTC Hero, the company's next mobile phone to run under the Android operating system.

And while those rumors seemed to be rather far from reality, DigiTimes comes now to reinforce them, adding more fuel to the fire by saying that there will actually be two Android phones released in London, the HTC Hero and the HTC Lancaster, the QWERTY variant of Hero that is heading for AT&T.

It seems that the HTC Lancaster, expected to become available in the United States in the third quarter, exclusively through AT&T, will be codenamed HTC Memphis. In addition, the news points towards the inclusion of HTC's TouchFLO 3D user interface with the device, while running under Android, which should prove true the reports about the Rosie interface of Hero that has been already spotted into the wild.

The interesting part is that HTC chose to unveil the Android-powered Hero and Lancaster in London, although the latter will go to the US market. On the other hand, the announcement regarding the event pointed towards something connected with the future of HTC design, so having the same phone released in two variants and with a brand new user interface might fit the profile just fine.

One way or another, it seems that HTC managed to stir the interest in its London announcement, as most of the people around are waiting for it to launch the Android phones. As many of you might already remember, HTC previously announced that it would release three phones running under Google's OS, and the Hero and Lancaster might follow the already available Magic.
