The PlayStation Vita is set to release in Europe and North America on February 22 and a lot of industry watchers will anxiously watch launch day for clues about the long term prospects of the new gaming handheld from Sony.

But another big gaming market, Australia, is set to get access to the Vita during next day and until now Sony has failed to offer an official list of video games that will be available on launch day.

IGN Australia has taken publicly available information and has compiled a list of titles that Australian gamers can look forward to.

The games are:

Touch My Katamari Army Corps of Hell WipEout 2048 Dungeon Hunter: Alliance MotorStorm RC Virtua Tennis 4 World Tour Edition Dynasty Warriors Next Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus Escape Plan Everybody’s Golf FIFA Football Gravity Rush Little Deviants Michael Jackson: The Experience ModNation Racers: Road Trip Putty Squad F1 2011 Rayman Origins Reality Fighters Ridge Racer Shinobido 2: Revenge of Zen Super StarDust Delta Top Darts Asphalt Injection Hustle Kings BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II Extend Lumines: Electronic Symphony Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 Uncharted: Golden Abyss

The prices for the Vita in Australia are set at 349.95 Australian dollars (360.5 United States dollars) for the version of the device which only offers Wi-Fi and 449.95 AUD (463.6 dollars) for the model which also offers 3G connections.

Sony has indicated that Vodafone is the preferred service provider in Australia but it seems that players will be able to use any 3G enabled sim card which offers data access.

The PlayStation Vita has failed to deliver the successful launch in Japan that Sony was hoping on so the company is now looking to the United States, Europe and Australia to make its new handheld a sales success.

If that fails to happen the company might have to significantly cut the price of the Vita in order to drive up interest.
