Microsoft's Xbox 360 exclusive no longer... exclusive?

I thought there was a trend for first person shooters based on real time strategies to be made, but it seems that things work the other way around, too. At least when it comes to the beloved Halo who is going to get a new game, a RTS called Halo Wars (like you didn't know that already!) developed by Bungie and Ensemble Studios. And, until now, the game was known as an Xbox 360 exclusive...

But it seems that things have changed, according to theangrypixel.com, who report that a very reliable source from Microsoft has told them that a PC version is in the works. Yahoo! Hopefully their "inside person" was correct, since this little piece of news brings up a bunch of great options for the Halo fans all over the world, as well as the pure RTS gamers.

First of all, because the game will feature a cross-platform play, which means that Xbox and PC gamers can meet and play against each other (or in co-op mode). And if that happens, it will definitely be the moment when the good old personal computer will record a win against the Xbox 360, since RTS games and the specific console controllers are not such a great team. Anyway... this doesn't really matter, as long as we will get the Halo Wars game for the PC systems, as well.

And there are some solid reasons to believe these rumors are true, since most of the Xbox games from Microsoft have eventually made it to the PCs, as well. Also, the developers are the same guys that brought us Age of Empires, so they know a thing or two about PC real time strategy titles. Not to mention the fact that a RTS can be best played with a mouse and a keyboard and nothing else.

On the other hand, as expected, Microsoft has denied the rumor, saying that they have no plans to develop the game for Windows Vista. Great! It means that it will be made just for the XP, right?
