Harmonix, MTV Games and Apple Corps have announced that they are today releasing the Rubber Soul album for their The Beatles-themed Rock Band title. Players interested in picking up the full album can log into the Xbox Live Marketplace today to get it or use the Nintendo Wii but those who want to play on the PlayStation 3 will need to wait another two days to get it from the PlayStation Store.

The full track list for Rubber Soul is: “Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown),” “You Won’t See Me,” “Nowhere Man,” “Think For Yourself,” “The Word,” “Michelle,” “What Goes On,” “Girl,” “In My Life,” “Wait” and “Run For Your Life.”

There are some great Beatles tracks in there and even non fans will be attracted to the new DLC by the chance of playing “Michelle” and “Norwegian Wood.” All the songs can be obtained individually, with the price set at 160 Microsoft Points or their equivalent in real world money, or as the Complete The Album Pack for 1,440 Microsoft Points.

Rubber Soul is the third full album delivered via the Rock Band Music Store, after Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and Abbey Road. It's not clear whether Harmonix and MTV Games will continue delivering albums in 2010 or whether they aim to offer players the entirety of The Beatles discography. The already released DLC would probably get a boost in sales if the three albums are packed together and sold for a discount to fans of the band.

At the Spike Video Games Awards ceremony, the two companies unveiled that they were creating a Green Day Rock Band title set to arrive in the fall of 2010. Those who were hoping for a Queen or Led Zeppelin Rock Band will probably have to wait for another year.
