14 DAY TRIAL // Sony Ericsson and Rogers have officially confirmed that both Xperia arc and Xperia Play smartphones will be available for purchase on April 28th.
However, Canadians who want to get either of the two upcoming devices a bit earlier should pay a visit to one of the Sony Style stores on April 27th.
Apparently, the company is doing a pre-sale in the Toronto area where all Sony Style stores will have both Xperia arc and Play available for purchase one day earlier than expected.
Still, customers interested in this offer will have to get an exclusive pre-sale pass that can be obtained at one of the following locations: Toronto Eaton Centre, Yorkdale Shopping Centre, Sony Centre, Smart Centres Leaside and Sherway Gardens.
The information comes via Sony's Facebook wall, which explains the procedure and reveals the places where the devices will be available:
“Be the first to purchase the Xperia arc or Xperia PLAY a day before it becomes available in other retail stores across Canada! 60 total Xperia arc and Xperia PLAY smartphones will be available at the Toronto Eaton Centre Sony Style on April 27, 2011.”
There are no changes regarding the smartphones' prices, so anyone who wants to purchase Rogers' Xperia arc or Play will have to pay $549.99 upfront or $99.99 with a new three-year contract 3-years voice and data agreement with minimum combined monthly service fee of $45.
The carrier also throws in 'free shipping' for all customers who pre-order the Xperia Play or arc online, but those who are going for Sony Style pre-sale won't need this.
Potential customers who are not sure that they will be able to get one of the two smartphones from Rogers, as the carrier's offer will expire on May 2nd or while the quantities last, should try and take advantage of Sony Style's pre-sale.
