Canadian mobile phone carrier Rogers has just made some changes in its handset offering. The company added a new device to the list of other phones available for purchase from its website, namely the Nokia N97 mini, but also killed two handsets present on the list, namely the 8GB iPhone 3G and the HTC Dream (the black versions, it seems).

The emergence of Nokia N97 mini on Rogers' website does not come as a surprise. The wireless carrier was said previously to plan launching the device, and now all is official. Although no formal announcement was made, Canadian mobile phone users interested in this handset can now head over to the carrier to get the phone.

Here's what the carrier notes about the new phone: “The Nokia N97 Mini comes with everything you need for productivity and entertainment. It offers the full Ovi suite, including Ovi Maps with free Navigation and a car mount so you can turn this N-series smartphone into a full GPS solution. For your entertainment needs, the N97 Mini comes with exclusive content like Rihanna tracks and 5 free premium games to keep you entertained.”

The Nokia N97 Mini is available for purchase on Rogers' website for $99.99 upon the signing of a three-year contract agreement with the carrier (this is a promo price with a monthly $45 Voice and data plan). Those who choose a two-year contract with Rogers will have to pay $399.99 for the device, while those going for a one-year agreement will pay $449.99. When purchased free of contract, the device costs $499.99.

As for the Rogers 8GB iPhone 3G and the HTC Dream, the news on them being discontinued comes from MobileSyrup, which brought to light an internal memo from the wireless carrier announcing the move. Those users interested in having one of these devices should look for the iPhone 16GB or HTC Magic instead, the document notes.
