Rogers Wireless, the largest Canadian mobile operator, has prepared new color versions for two of its music-oriented phones. More exactly, Nokia 5310 XpressMusic and Sony Ericsson W580i will be offered in new red editions, starting the next few weeks.

[admark=1]Nokia 5310 XpressMusic is available in Canada since May, but only in a blue version, so Rogers thought it would be nice to add a red one too. Coming in a candybar form factor, the 5310 is one of the thinnest music phones ever, as it measures 103.8 x 44.7 x 9.9 millimeters. Its features include: a dedicated music chip for high audio quality, music player with dedicated keys and lots of formats supported, FM radio with RDS, a 3.5mm headset jack, a stereo headset, Bluetooth 2.0, a 2 inch TFT display with 16 million colors and 240 x 320 pixels, Opera Mini, email and Instant Messaging, a 2 Megapixel camera with video recording, 30MB of built-in memory and expandable with a microSD or microSDHC card.

The blue 5310 XpressMusic is sold by Rogers for $69.99 (with a 3-year contract agreement), so I guess the red version will be offered for the same price.

Sony Ericssson W580i is a bit older than the Nokia handset and it's available from Rogers in three colors, white, grey and pink, for prices starting at $29.99 (with the same 3-year contract). The red version of the Walkman phone has recently been released in the US, by AT&T, and now it's time for Rogers to keep up with the color trend.

In the slider case of W580i, Sony Ericsson packed features like Walkman player, shake control, dedicated music keys, TrackID, stereo Bluetooth, FM radio with RDS, push email, Web browser, a 2 inch TFT display with 240 x 320 pixels and 262K colors, fitness applications, a 2 Megapixel camera with video and Memory Stick Micro card support.
