It seems that Telus isn't going to be the only carrier to provide the HTC Touch Diamond, since a picture showing a Touch Diamond has emerged in the UR Magazine. This is a publication available for all Rogers customers, and its sole purpose is to keep them informed about upcoming phones, along with informing them on features and prizes to be won. We reported before about an internal document that presented the device to the employees, but now it's clear that the waiting is almost over – given that the phone showed up in the magazine, it's half official.

Rogers' HTC Touch Diamond will be just like the one that is sold in Europe, with the cut back and camera on the front. The device will have a price of US$ 599.99, but details regarding a release date and price plans are unavailable for the time being.

Let's do a quick recap of what the device has to offer. Touch Diamond is among the best Pocket PCs that users can currently find on the market, having been awarded by the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) with the “European Smartphone 2008-2009” distinction.

The handset delivers a 2.8-inch TFT touchscreen display with handwriting recognition and a large 480 x 640 pixel resolution, TouchFLO 3D interface, Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system, accelerometer, internal GPS, document reader and editor, Wi-Fi and full HTML browser, GSM and HSDPA connectivity (for data transfer speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps), a 3.15 Megapixel camera with auto focus, music and video players, stereo FM radio with RDS, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, and 4GB of internal memory.

Owners won't get bored with this phone very soon, since there are so many things that can be done with it. The only aspect that might pose a problem is the price but, with a two-year contract, it should be a bit more on affordable side.
