Video game developer Rockstar has announced that it has rebooted its Social Club site and service in order to include a number of new features for the socially minded player while also introducing new functionality for the CREWS feature, which is linked to the upcoming Max Payne 3.

Gamers can now link their Facebook and their Twitter accounts to the Rockstar Social Club and there are more options linked to how stats and accomplishments are displayed on the new Wall feature, which is open to comments and allows for more connectivity.

The profile links also allow all those who will play Max Payne 3 to quickly recruit people for their Crew with one click before heading into the Gang Wars or the Team Deathmatch modes.

The site also gets a new Activity Feed, which can be completely customized and there are also options to import friends from Facebook, Twitter and other gaming accounts.

The social network integration works both ways and that means gamers can also list their Rockstar related achievements and accomplishments on their Walls and in the feeds.

Before the launch of Max Payne 3, gamers will also get full access to the Crew registration and will receive an Emblem Editor to create the official logo for their own team.

Rockstar created the Social Club during 2008 and has gradually added new functionality after the launch of Grand Theft Auto IV, allowing players of the company’s games to meet others and create multiplayer groups.

Max Payne 3 will be launched on May 15 in North America and three days later in Europe, and it will put players in the role of an older and more jaded Max who seeks to escape the past but fails and is once again dragged into a conflict with violent gangs.

The game will have a multiplayer component that will integrate Social Club elements.
