You may also get everything the pack includes, individually

I'm sure that ever since Harmonix rolled out the first Rock Band gameplay footage, music games fans all across the world have been dying to know when they'll be able to get it themselves and for how much. As it turns out, my prognosis was accurate. The game is going to set you back $200. You may pre-order it as soon as? today. As for when you can actually have it...

"While prices and release dates for Rock Band have been floating for a while now, it looks like things may have finally settled down, with the entire kit now available for pre-order at a couple of retailers," reads a piece up on Engadget.com. "If you're ready to go all out, you can snag a bundle for either the 360 or PS3 that includes the game, guitar, microphone, and drum set for $199, although you'll still have to wait until November 20th to actually get it. The whole lot is also available individually, with the game running $60, the microphone $30, and the drum set $80. Somewhat curiously, the 360 version of the wireless guitar is listed at $80 on both Amazon and GameStop, while the PS3 version only costs $50, although GameStop still says that the prices are 'subject to change.'"

Strange isn't it? Why would the PS3 wireless guitar controller cost $20 less than the Xbox 360's? Clearly one of those two prices is wrong and I bet it's the PS3's. Rock Band gamers and PS3 owners couldn't be as lucky as to benefit from such a... Waaait a minute here. What if this is an approach in getting the PS3 moving too?

I mean, not that $20 makes a whole lot of difference when it comes to a $500 worth of gaming console, but it sure makes you feel like you're getting a better deal. Think about it: PS3 is better than Xbox 360 in many ways - Rock Band for PS3 is cheaper ("and probably looks better," as your average dork would say) - win-win situation!

It's either that or one of the stores has an inaccurate pricing on the wireless guitar controller. Keep fingers crossed for the PS3's. As in... to be the right price, for both.
