It's the week between Christmas and the New Year but it seems that the developers at Harmonix are determined to still put out a slew of tracks for their Rock Band music simulator. For the first time in the history of the franchise, Paul McCartney is set to make an appearance as a solo artist, after featuring as part of The Beatles Rock Band, and players who are interested in country music are also getting a treat.

The Paul McCartney songs are set to be taken out of Good Evening New York City, a live album he recorded way back in July when the new City Field was inaugurated for concerts.

On January 5, 2010, players who own Rock Band on the Nintendo Wii or on the Xbox 360 from Microsoft will get the New York City Pack 01, while those using the PlayStation 3 will have to wait two more days. There will be three tracks included: “Band on the Run (Live),” “Jet (Live)” and “Sing the Changes (Live);” each can be obtained for 1.99 dollars, the whole pack being priced at 5.49.

Meanwhile, the country pack is set to contain seven tracks: “Good Time” from Alan Jackson; “Cry Lonely” by Cross Canadian Ragweed; “She's Country” sung by Jason Aldean; “I Told You So” from Keith Urban; “The Gambler” by Kenny Rogers; “This One's For the Girls” by Martina McBride and “Any Man of Mine” from Shania Twain.

The tracks are priced at 1.99 dollars and the whole pack is a little over 10 dollars. Those who plan to get the country tracks on the Wii or on the Xbox 360 should log in today into the Rock Band Store, while those who have the game for the PS3 need to wait until January 7 for the new tracks to be available.
