One of the most interesting moves in the battle of the music simulators, which is fought between Guitar Hero and Rock Band, has been the decision taken by Harmonix to announce that it would offer 20 free downloadable tracks soon after the launch date of its game.

Until now, we did not know what tracks would be made available but, at long last, the company has offered a list. It also says that they will be ready to download on November 4 for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360. When the Nintendo Wii version of Rock Band 2 is also released in December, those who play on that platform will also have access to them.

To get these new tracks you need to go to the Redemption website that Harmonix has set up, and enter the code which can be found on the back of the manual that came with Rock Band 2. As soon as you do that, you will be able to get all the songs.

Here's a full list: “Sons and Daughters” by The 88; “No Regrets” by Authority Zero; “Prequel To The Sequel” by Between the Buried and Me; “Bounce” by The Cab; “"Get It On” by The Chevelles; “Give It To Me” by The Cocktail Slippers; “Database Corrupted” by Dealership; “I Wanna Be Your Man” by Endeverafter; “Ashes To Fire” by The Ghost Hounds; “Young” by Hollywood Undead; “The Feeling” by Kutless; “If I Ain't Got You” by The Len Price 3; “I'm Gone, I'm Going” by Lesley Roy; “Burn You Down” by Opiate for the Masses; “Magnetic Baby” by Semi-Precious Weapons; “Like a Fool” by Shaimus; “Crazy Tuesday” by Thenewno2; “The Time Is Wrong” by Tickle Me Pink; “Desperate Times, Desperate Measures” by Underoath; “I.V.” by X Japan.

The list is clearly made up of bands and songs that are not mainstream, but Harmonix probably screened them in order to make sure that they are great experiences when played in the game. Who knows, maybe the biggest stars of tomorrow can now be downloaded for free on Rock Band 2.
