14 DAY TRIAL // Robert Pattinson is reportedly holed up at Reese Witherspoon's ranch in California but he might emerge soon to travel to the UK – with the sole purpose of having a heart to heart conversation with Liberty Ross, the wife of the man Kristen Stewart cheated on him with.
Kristen and Rupert Sanders, Ross' husband and director of “Snow White and the Huntsman,” were caught making out in an LA parking lot by paparazzi, with reports saying they might have been hooking up when they were still shooting for the film – that is, about 6 months ago.
Both issued statements to apologize to their respective partners for the “indiscretion,” but neither of them publicly acknowledged them.
Liberty might have decided to dump Sanders to the curb, especially since she's already sacrificed a lot to make her marriage to him work while he focused mostly on his work.
Pattinson, on the other hand, is receiving support and a shoulder to cry on from Reese, whom he befriended when they did “Water for Elephants.”
Still, Robert is believed to have made up his mind to get in touch with Liberty to have a talk with her, reports in the British media cited by the Daily Mail indicate.
Having once said that he would never in a million years understand what could make someone cheat on their partner, he is now in a situation in which he must do just that: understand what motivated Kristen to find affection in another man's arms.
“He needs to know for his own peace of mind if theirs was just a fleeting moment. He hopes Liberty can help him find the answers he so desperately craves,” a spy says.
Liberty, it would seem, is nearly convinced that the “affair” was more of an “indiscretion” as the two said it was, because Sanders was photographed the other day with his wedding band still on his finger.
Other reports (also cited by the Mail) claim that, the day Kristen and Rupert kissed and cuddled in her car, she'd actually agreed to meet him because she wanted to end things with him once and for all.
“Kristen had wanted to end their closeness that day but her desires and her emotions got the better of her. She had no intention of leaving Robert and Rupert has never mentioned walking away from his family,” another insider is quoted as saying.
