14 DAY TRIAL // Kristen Stewart owned up to cheating on Robert Pattinson with Rupert Sanders, just as Sanders himself also did. Contrary to reports that Robert had flown back home to the UK, he is actually holed up at Reese Witherspoon's ranch.
The scandal broke when Us Weekly ran photos of Kristen kissing Sanders, who directed her in “Snow White and the Huntsman,” in a parking lot in LA.
At the time the photos were taken (July 17), both were in committed relationships: he's married to model Liberty Ross, while she'd been dating Pattinson for 3 or 4 years.
Shortly afterwards, rumor broke that the British actor, heartbroken and upset, had packed his bags, left the house he'd shared with Kristen and was on his way back to the UK to find comfort with family and friends.
As it turns out, he did seek support from friends but he never made it back to the UK: he's still in California, Us Weekly reports.
“Where in the world is Robert Pattinson? The unexpected answer, as revealed in the new Us Weekly, is Reese Witherspoon's vacation house,” the publication says.
Robert and Reese met when they worked on “Water for Elephants” in which they played lovers, and are believed to have remained close friends ever since.
“When the devastated Brit needed to get away from it all, his Water for Elephants costar Witherspoon, 36, offered up her tranquil, $7 million ranch in Ojai, Calif. (The pregnant actress wed husband Jim Toth in March 2011 at the rustic chic estate, recently featured in ELLE Decor.),” Us notes.
“As Pattinson attempts to relax chez Witherspoon, he is, according to another source, 'a total mess... He's questioning everything',” the same publication adds.
Admittedly, all this time, Kristen is desperately trying to make contact with Robert and hopefully win him back because she really thinks they can still make their relationship work.
He's not picking up her calls or replying to her texts because, right now, he “doesn't know what to do.”
