14 DAY TRIAL // Ellen DeGeneres often gives her celebrity guests customized presents, something to remember her by – mostly Ellen underwear. “Twilight” star Robert Pattinson also got a few pairs a while back and now, during the latest interview, he was offered an entire basket of boxers.
Pattinson was on Ellen the other day to promote his latest film, the love story “Water for Elephants,” where he plays Reese Witherspoon’s love interest.
As the video below will confirm, among other things, the British actor also spoke about how he doesn’t know how to use a washing machine and how he always keeps a few new pairs of underwear at the ready, just in case.
“I save [the Ellen underwear] for special occasions. So they very rarely get brought out. I was doing the last Twilight movie and I only had one pair left and they were those,” Pattinson says.
He saves them for special occasions because, understandably, he loves them, he says, while Ellen is gloating with pride.
There was a downside to the Ellen boxers, though, but it could possibly have to do with Robert’s body and not the briefs in particular, he says.
“For some reason I think the shape of my body… my [backside] is constantly hanging out,” he says, adding that he must have extra vertebrae.
“We were doing this big fight and every shot has these Ellen underpants. It came to a point where producers [were] calling up my agent going, ‘I don’t know what he is up to but I don’t like it’,” Pattinson explains laughing.
“They never questioned Fruit of the Loom before,” he jokes.
To help Robert out and prevent him ending up in a situation where he’s running out of clean underwear, Ellen gives Robert the perfect gift: a basket full of it.
In the same interview, Rob and Ellen also show for the audience their favorite viral videos, with the actor admitting (also as a joke) that he came across his while searching for videos with exotic dancers.
