14 DAY TRIAL // Rumors that Robert Pattinson and Katy Perry are more than friends have been around for a couple of years now, prompting even a denial from Katy herself. By the looks of it, they’re not about to go away anytime soon, not when there are various “eyewitnesses” eager to vouch that these two are dating.
Take for instance this insider speaking to Radar Online, who says that, at an afterparty at the premiere of Robert’s most recent film, “The Rover,” he and Katy no longer made any attempt to hide the fact that they’re dating.
Apparently, when Robert arrived at the party and saw Katy, looking fabulous in a lace little black dress (seen in the photo above, from inside the bash), his eyes “lit up.” He walked over to her and made sure he spent the rest of the evening by her side.
There was a lot of touching and kissing too, the insider continues, hinting that either the romance is new or these two are still in that puppy love stage.
“She looked gorgeous in a lace sequin black mini-dress, and they hugged and kissed. He kept kissing her the entire night,” the tipster shares.
That Pattinson is dating Perry would not be such a huge deal if she weren’t good friends with his ex too, Kristen Stewart, whom he dated for years, after falling in love on the set of the first “Twilight” movie. They broke up after Kristen was photographed kissing Rupert Sanders, who directed her in “Snow White and the Huntsman,” reconciled briefly, and then called it off for good.
It’s about that time that rumors that he was dating Katy began to emerge online. Katy had been a good friend of Kristen’s but, when she cheated on him, it is believed she (Katy) took his side – even cutting off Kristen for good for breaking his heart like this.
It was at this point that Perry saw fit to address the reports, telling Elle Magazine in a 2013 interview that proof that she and Robert were just good friends was to be found in the way she acted around him.
“OK, so here’s the proof there was never anything going on with me and Robert Pattinson. I fart in front of him. Properly fart. And I never, ever fart in front of a man I am dating. That’s a rule. He’s my bud, I’m like his big sister. We just hang out. The other day, I said: ‘One of the things I’m most proud of is not sleeping with you, Robert.’ And that’s true,” she said.
She also argued that she and Kristen were still close and that she would never do that to a friend.
“I sent her a text message saying: ‘I know you’ve seen all this stuff but you know I would never disrespect you. I’m not that person. I’m just trying to be a friend to him but it is unfortunate that I do have a set of [breasts]’,” Katy explained.
