14 DAY TRIAL // Rob Kardashian, brother of Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney Kardashian and half-brother to the Jenner sisters Kendall and Kylie, has been MIA for months, despite the family’s increased public profile as Kim’s wedding to Kanye West drew nearer. He emerged over the weekend, when the ceremony took place, but didn’t attend it.
It is believed that Rob’s weight is the reason why he’s been keeping such a low profile, with insiders whispering that he’s been under a lot of pressure from the family to shed the extra pounds so that he be “camera-ready” for Kim’s big day.
Despite all his efforts (he’s even reported to have gone to “fat camp”), he didn’t manage to get back to his former, slimmer figure. Even so, he and his mother Kris boarded a private jet together late last week, en route to Paris, where Kim held all the pre-wedding celebrations, including the rehearsal dinner.
All seemed well until before the dinner, when Kim took Rob aside for a little chat on how he was supposed to lose weight but didn’t. She felt that his appearance at the airport had stolen her thunder and she didn’t miss the opportunity to let him know, X17 Online writes.
“Kim and Rob had it out Friday before the lunch at friend/designer Valentino's chateau. Kim wanted the departure from Paris to look like a catwalk, with every member of the Kardashian clan wearing beautiful Valentino couture and looking like a million bucks. Obviously Rob didn't fit into that plan and that's when the war began,” the report notes.
Rob too had a few words to say about the entire wedding brouhaha and how hosting a “wedding weekend” in Paris and then the actual wedding in Florence, Italy was “superficial bull[expletive].” He didn’t care about the timing of his observations and Kim’s potential cold feet ahead of the big event, and let her know that he thought all this “display of wealth and clothes and beauty” was the dumbest thing ever.
According to one insider, when she reproached him for saying he’d lose weight and not coming through on it, he justly pointed out how superficial she was where he was concerned. He then offered to “make her life easier” and left.
“Rob booked his flight for Saturday morning and skipped the lunch at Valentino's. He just doesn't seem to feel comfortable or happy around his family at all. They're all wrapped up in the same pretty world and he just doesn't fit in,” says another source.
Photos show Rob at the airport in France, preparing to board a plane back to the US. He’s wearing black sweats and a black shirt with a black cap and, in some of the pics, is trying to cover his face. He didn’t address the paparazzi but, as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words: you can tell he’s not having one of his best days.
However, whether he left the party for the reason stated above, we don’t know for sure yet.
