14 DAY TRIAL // Everyone close to the Kardashians was in Europe over the weekend – first in Paris, France, then in Florence, Italy – for Kim and Kanye West’s wedding weekend. Described as mostly a “family” affair, one family member who was noticeably absent from the ceremony and reception was Kim’s brother, Rob Kardashian.
He was in Paris for some of the celebratory events organized there, but he skipped the rehearsal dinner that took place at the Versailles Palace and the preceding lunch at the Valentino estate. In fact, at the time these were happening, he was probably already on the way home, having boarded a plane back to the US.
Because it’s strange to see a family member bolt right before the big event, rumors about what might have prompted Rob to head back to the US started making the rounds the minute paparazzi photos of him at the airport emerged online.
The favorite theory with celebrity pundits, sourced to the same ol’ “unnamed” but “reliable” insiders, was that he had gotten into a fight with Kim right before the Valentino lunch and that the argument was somehow connected to his being overweight and his apparent inability to shift the extra pounds.
Admittedly, Kim reproached him for being “fat” and basically ruining all her wedding photos with his bulky frame because she’d imagined the festivities would be comparable to a Paris fashion catwalk. If that were you instead of Rob, you would have probably reacted in a similar fashion: he told her she was a shallow woman who only cared about “superficial bull[expletive]” and he offered to make her life easier by removing himself from the wedding.
So, he left.
Now here’s this: People magazine reports that Rob did leave because of his weight problem but insists that Kim had nothing to do with the decision. In other words, it was all on him.
“Rob did come to Paris but skipped [the rehearsal dinner at] Versailles and the wedding. He just didn't want to see a bunch of people both nights and really just is not feeling like himself,” an insider explains.
“He is really overweight and having a hard time with it. There was no big fight between him and Kim. This was just a decision he made,” the source adds.
It is a well known fact in certain circles that People magazine, much like TMZ, Us Weekly, and a bunch of other glossies, are regularly being fed stories from “unnamed sources” by someone from inside the Kardashian Klan, perhaps momager Kris Jenner or even Kim herself.
This might be a bit far-fetched, although not entirely unlikely, but the story could go back to Kris who, in planting it, is trying to get all heat off Kim and onto Rob. Kim is her number one moneymaker, being the most famous of the Kardashians, whereas Rob isn’t. Plus, he hates media attention these days so, at this point, he doesn’t really care what people say about him.
