It’s been almost two years since she was “beaten to a pulp,” as per police records, by her then-boyfriend Chris Brown, and Rihanna would love nothing more than to put that past her and never have to talk about it again.

Ever since the incident and subsequent scandal, Rihanna has often been in a position when she had to talk about the assault and the abusive relationship even in interviews that were meant to promote new music or some other product.

Just last month, for instance, in an interview that runs in the December 2010 issue of Marie Claire, Rihanna had to revisit the same painful memories at the suggestion of the reporter, who asked her how she felt after Chris Brown beat her.

When one of her followers told her on Twitter that maybe it’s time she stopped talking about the incident because she came across as if she was milking it for publicity, the pop star agreed, but for an entirely different reason.

“AGREED! People won’t stop askin abt it! Its [expletive] annoying! Nobody wants to relive that, but some ppl can’t respect that! [sic],” the singer tweeted.

It’s not that she doesn’t understand why the media remains focused on questions about her abusive relationship but, on a very personal note, she would very much like to forget all the bad things about it.

Obviously, she can’t do that if every time she does an interview, she has to answer questions about the night of the assault and the aftermath of the scandal – and how she dealt with everything.

“I get it, they wanna raise awareness to young girls! But it ends up just makin me look bitter, pitiful, spiteful and angry!” Rihanna added, also on Twitter.

Right now, Rihanna is promoting her latest album, “Loud,” which means she’s doing more media than usual – which, in turn, must mean she’s again being asked questions about that February night in 2009, when Chris Brown threatened and, to some extent, even attempted to kill her.
