14 DAY TRIAL // Pop star Rihanna occasionally searches stuff about herself on the Internet, just out of curiosity, to see what people are saying about her. That doesn’t mean, though, that she values bloggers in any way, since she believes they need to get a life.
In a recent radio interview (excerpts via here), the pop star talked about rumors of dating Drake, how much she loves her current beau Matt Kemp and, of course, the crazy stories that pop up online about her.
She’s not a complete stranger to them, she admits, though she’s now more “numb” to the shock they cause because she’s come to realize that the people who write them are basically cowards without a life of their own.
“I still read the blogs sometimes, it depends on what it is I am trying to find out. I’m a lot more numb to it now only because I understand what it is,” Rihanna says.
“It’s a community for people who don’t have anything else to do and hate themselves, they hate their life, they hate their job, they hate their appearance, they are uncomfortable with who they are so what makes them feel good is talking smack about other people who they think they will never ever see in their life and they happen to be celebrities,” the star adds.
In other words, because they resent so much who they are and how their life is, they take all that frustration out on people don’t know, people who seem easy targets just because they’re public figures.
“It seems impossible to ever have the opportunity to say these things to their face, so they get to hide behind their computer,” Rihanna explains.
Sometimes, though, she also finds certain rumors to be extremely funny, like the one according to which she was dating LA Laker Andrew Bynum.
“Dating Andrew Bynum,” Rihanna says of the funniest rumor ever circulated about her. “Datewise? i just couldn’t believe they insulted me like that. No, I’m just kidding he is just not my type,” she adds.
