Singer steps out with jet black, short ‘do, reminiscent of the one she had in 2008

As regards her hairstyles, she’s a genuine chameleon. Rihanna has again ditched the longer ‘do and the curls for a sleek, short cut that is strangely similar to the one she was also sporting back in 2008.

Only hours after performing in Northern Ireland for her fans there with her trademark curls, Rihanna stepped out with a new, even more dramatic hairstyle, the Daily Mail informs.

It also has photos of the singer’s latest cut.

As the Mail puts it, the new ‘do seems to have been inspired by the style she adopted in 2008, the same one that Elle magazine named Best New Short Hairstyle and that spanned many variations with fans from all over the world.

There was a slight difference, though.

“The popstar appears to be trying to achieve the same stylish crop again – but it doesn’t quite look the same. She was spotted shopping in Hollywood with the new jet black do which looked chic at the front with a slicked fringe,” the publication writes.

“But the back was uneven, looking as though it had been done in a rush,” adds the Mail, noting that the back looked as if it had been “hacked” with a pair of scissors regardless of style or form.

While many a woman would probably love to emulate Rihanna and be able to change hairstyles as often as she does, this does come at a cost – and we’re not even talking about the kind of damage it may do to the hair.

Recent reports said that the singer is paying her hairstylist a whopping $3,000 (€2,251) a day, because she keeps her on her staff 24/7, for scheduled public appearances or just in case she needs anything done in the thirteenth hour.

“Rihanna likes to pioneer new styles but it’s costing her a fortune. She makes several public appearances a week, and the cost soon stacks up,” an insider said, as we also informed you at the time.

However, all these costs were believed to be covered by her management and her label.
