14 DAY TRIAL // Rihanna is a genuine trendsetter when it comes to hairstyles, being the one celebrity who changes her ‘do almost as often as she goes through outfits. A new report suggests that this comes at a very high cost: about $23,000 a week.
The Daily Mail claims to have spoken to a friend of Rihanna’s, who can confirm that the star’s personal hairstylist charges about $3,000 a day.
Indeed, the Barbadian singer is under a lot of pressure to always look her best and to constantly keep her image interesting and fresh - and all this adds up at the end of the month.
The person behind Rihanna’s most outrageous hairstyles is celebrity hairstylist Ursula Stephen, the source says for the British publication.
“Rihanna likes to pioneer new styles but it’s costing her a fortune. She makes several public appearances a week, and the cost soon stacks up,” the insider dishes.
Luckily, the money isn’t coming directly from Rihanna’s pocket, since her management handles all these costs. Nevertheless, it does make one wonder, says the spy.
“Ursula is a close confidante and they are together all the time. You have to wonder why she insists on keeping such an expensive member of her entourage on the payroll 24/7. Most of these costs are paid for by her management,” the insider explains.
The reason why Rihanna is keeping Ursula so close at all times is to be found in the very fact that she likes to change her ‘do as often as she can.
“Rihanna has changed her hairstyle 13 times since it was dyed bright red last November, including a huge red afro that earned her the nickname Side-Show Bob after the Simpsons cartoon character,” the Daily Mail points out.
Just recently, the star washed out the Kool-Aid red from her hair, and went for a more natural, curly look. Fans can bet though it won’t last too long, knowing Rihanna’s inclination towards the dramatic.
