It's not clear what the Modern Warfare veterans plan to create

The developers at Respawn Entertainment, the company created by the original creators of the Modern Warfare series, has released a second rather blurry image that is designed to act as a teaser for their new video game project.

The image, which you can see attached to this article, doesn’t tell us anything concrete about the possible game development and follows another similar image that was first shown off during the summer.

It might be that the developers at Respawn Entertainment are trying to get fans of their work to look at the images and create their own fantasy experiences based on them.

Respawn Entertainment has been created by Jason West and Vince Zampella, who previously worked at developer Infinity Ward and were behind the success of the first two Modern Warfare 2 games in the Call of Duty franchise.

The pair have also recruited a number of their old colleagues and have entered into a new deal with publisher Electronic Arts, which is supposedly linked with the long term development of a first person shooter franchise.

Rumors that were never confirmed have suggested that the pair are abandoning the modern theme and are planning to create a new science fiction universe for their experience.

Since Respawn Entertainment was created publisher Activision has rebuilt Infinity Ward and launched Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, which has managed to become the biggest entertainment launch of the year and has sold more than 1 billion dollars (762.5 million Euro) worth of copies.

Meanwhile Electronic Arts managed to get a bigger than usual slice of the first person shooter pie via Battlefield 3, which was created by Swedish developer DICE.

The new project from Respawn Entertainment might be positioned as a direct competitor to the new series that Halo creators Bungie are working on in collaboration with Activision.
