Wii Fit running close behind

It seems that zombie killing is more important these days than keeping yourself in shape, as Resident Evil 5 from Capcom again tops the United Kingdom videogame chart, just ahead of Nintendo's Wii Fit.

Apparently unaffected by the racism controversy that rages around it, the zombie killing shooter manages a rare feat in the last months, staying at number one by more than one week without being named Wii Fit.

A Nintendo DS game, Professor Layton and the Curious Village has shot up by one position to reach number three, while the first new entry in the chart is WWE Legends of Wrestlemania from THQ, a title supposed to revive the lagging fortunes of the beleaguered publisher. Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. has gone down by two places, as the arcade-like flying sim is at number five. Ubisoft must be pretty pleased with the performance of the game, considering that it received little love from reviewers.

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars from Take Two and Rockstar has entered the United Kingdom chart at number six, which is a bit of a disappointment considering the hype that surrounded the first outing of the GTA franchise on the Nintendo DS.

Street Fighter IV from Capcom, after setting records, has bounced back into the top ten coming from 13, while Brain Training is at number eight, ahead of FIFA 09 from EA Sports and Call of Duty: World at War, which closes the chart almost six months after the official release.

The two significant titles that are out of the top ten are Halo Wars, from Ensemble and Microsoft, which is now at number 19 in the charts, while Empire: Total War, which was last week at number 8, has also gone down by ten places to number 18. This was a quite tough week for strategy titles. .
