A new game for Nintendo's Wii has been announced today by interactive entertainment publisher Mastiff. To add to their popular series of outdoor action games the studio is currently working on the Remington Great American Bird Hunt, which will be an arcade shooter that will allow players to hunt down and shoot poor defenseless birds with an arsenal of various shotguns. All in all, it sounds like an amazingly fun title.

The shooter will offer up to 50 trophies and power-up items to get our hands on and a vast compendium of Remington hunting rifles. It will try to take a different approach on the sport of bird hunting, adding to the virtual version a fast pace and that old addictive arcade feeling. Remington Great American Bird Hunt will offer players 60 levels of various environments to wage war against the feathered adversaries. Amongst the birds that will enter the line of fire are turkeys, pheasants, grouse and ducks and each will have their own specific behavior. Besides the weapons they'll use, players will have to adapt the battlefield tactics to match the prey they're hunting.

Bill Swartz, the man who holds the helms of Mastiff, set a clear goal for their Great American Bird Hunt. "With Remington Great American Bird Hunt, our goal was to make a fun hunting game, one you could enjoy equally by yourself or with your friends, something that anyone could pick up and immediately enjoy yet would be true to the sport of bird hunting"

The game will support a multiplayer of up to four players in both a cooperative and competitive game mode. Hunting Party Mode is designed to allow two, three or four players to share the same game level as they track down and engage the flying targets. Players will also have a trusty retriever to help them with their task, as any good hunter comes with a pet. The game has an official release date in November 2009.
