There must be something in the water over in Hollywood: following a series of engagement and pregnancy announcements these days, it’s now Reese Witherspoon’s turn to announce she and Jim Toth have officially become engaged.

The two started dating at the beginning of the year, shortly after Reese broke up with Jake Gyllenhaal and Jim was still an agent at her talent agency.

Since then, things have gotten more and more serious, considering the recent announcement. Reese, as always, has managed to keep her personal life private, often avoiding to speak of her relationship in media interviews.

Us Magazine has confirmation of the engagement straight from the actress’ rep, but, as of now, no wedding date has been announced.

“Reese Witherspoon is ready to walk down the aisle again! She and Hollywood agent Jim Toth are engaged, her rep confirms exclusively to Us Magazine,” writes the publication, offering only a short confirmation of the happy news.

“They are extremely happy,” says the rep. One source close to the couple is more generous with details, though, saying Jim has met Reese’s children and is getting along with them just wonderfully.

“Ava and Deacon are happy with him,” says the spy. “[Reese] is definitely happy, in love and definitely wants to settle down,” the insider explains.

This will be Reese’s second marriage: in 2001, she wedded co-star Ryan Phillippe, whom she divorced later in 2008 amidst claims he cheated on her.

The two have two children together, Ava (11 years old) and Deacon (who’s 7). Since the divorce, Reese has also been in a long-term relationship with Gyllenhaal, as also noted above.

In a recent interview – and also probably one of the few in which the star agreed to discuss her personal life – Reese said one of the things that most attracted her to Jim in the first place was the fact that he was not in the same line of business as she was.

It was great to have someone who knew the demands made on her and the hectic schedule, Reese said, but who didn’t have to do the same every single day.
