Joining the long line of delayed games is Rockstar San Diego's Red Dead Redemption that was initially pegged for launched this fall. With just a few days short of winter, the title can no longer make that deadline, so it will be pushed into 2010. Take-Two, the publisher, said that the game would join some of its more famous brothers in arms, like its BioShock 2, Max Payne 3 and 2K Czech's Mafia II. These games are all expected in the first half of the year, and if Red Dead Redemption might not be anything worth getting all giddy about, the rest of the line-up is truly an impressive one.

The first of the four to be launched will be BioShock 2 on February 9, followed by RDR in April and it will be available on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3. The game will need all the attention it can get, so Take-Two has announced that it has a special treat for us just under the horizon.

On December 1, Red Dead Redemption will get a brand-new trailer. RDR is considered the sequel to Red Dead Revolver, a title released by Rockstar in 2004 for the Xbox and PlayStation 2.

RDR will take place several years after the story of the first installment, which happened in the 1880s. The leading role will be assigned to John Marston, a former outlaw that has to make his way through the upcoming industrial evolution that is slowly advancing towards the Wild West.

The game will make use of Rockstar's very own RAGE engine, the same that powered the the block-buster hit Grand Theft Auto IV and provide players with an open-world that they can explore at their leisure. The Wild West will be more than just wasteland and the abandoned-town stereotype, but the action will be up there with the Spaghetti Westerns. Whether one prefers the one-on-one revolver duels or the large-scale battles, Red Dead Redemption will have them all.
