Electronic Arts announced its plan to charge gamers just 19.99 dollars for the upcoming Uprising, the expansion pack for Red Alert 3 that has been officially unveiled and set to arrive in March. It's a good price for the expansion and we're hoping that the content delivered will make up for the slight disappointment we felt here at Softpedia while playing Red Alert 3.

For the above mentioned price, gamers will get what looks like a lot of content. The developers are promising four separate mini-campaigns that will pick up after the end of Red Alert 3. Three of them will focus on the three empires appearing in the game, while the fourth is set to be focused on the history surrounding Yuriko Omega, the Japanese commando that wields great psychic power. Electronic Arts says that this campaign will be more like a dungeon crawl and will represent something new to the franchise. The usual new units and maps will also be included in the package.

Electronic Arts also announced the cast of characters for the upcoming expansion pack. It's not clear whether all the actors who starred in the full motion videos of the original game will turn up but we're sure we'll see former wrestler Ric “Nature Boy” Flair, Malcolm McDowell, who is known for his work in Clockwork Orange and, more recently, in the series Heroes, Jamie Chung and Holly Valance.

Malcolm McDowell seemed especially pleased to be cast in Uprising, saying that “In the past people might have thought you could get away with anything in games and that isn't a good attitude. Kids are spending a lot of money and time on these games and they deserve first-rate performers and I'm glad to say that this is what Uprising is.”
