She doesn’t have a record deal just yet but, some might say, with over 65 million hits on YouTube on her debut single, the much-derided “Friday,” she doesn’t need one. Internet sensation Rebecca Black has announced her next single and plans for an album.

Black rose to international fame (or infamy, depending on who you listen to) as the official video for “Friday” went viral.

It generated over 2 million hits in just hours, and is now sitting comfortably at well past 65 million, rivaling even the likes of Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga.

NME now reports that, despite harsh criticism for her musical debut, Rebecca is determined to keep pushing for a career in the industry by releasing more music.

“She’s recording the single and album at the Flying Pig Productions studio in Los Angeles, although she’s working without a record deal,” the music e-zine reports.

Her next single will not be called “Next Friday” (easy joke), but “LOL” and, from what Rebecca says, it will be in the same spirit of “fun fun fun!” as her debut single.

The name of the album has not yet been released.

Speaking with NME, the 13-year-old overnight star says that the millions of hits online (translated into cold hard cash, of course) have and will change nothing about her as an artist.

In other words, she vouches to stay true to herself and to continue making music for her age group, without trying to push any boundary to appear more mature than she is.

“I like the fact I am singing like a 13-year-old girl, not trying to be anything else. I would consider some [songs on the album] teenage love songs but I want to keep it appropriate and clean,” she says.

As for the criticism she was showered with, she can only say one thing: haters will be haters.

“People were saying, ‘You’re the worst singer, this is the worst song.’ They criticized my voice and the lyrics. But I call them negative Nancies,” Rebecca says.

“They can try to rain on my parade but as far as I’m concerned they are raining on their own parade,” she adds.

For a taste of what’s to come, below is Rebecca Black’s “Friday.” Enjoy.
