Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion is preparing its first developer conference for Asia, namely BlackBerry DevCon Asia, scheduled to take place Bali International Convention Centre in Bali, Indonesia on 13th-14th January 2011.

According to the company, it is preparing a number of no less than 40 keynote, breakout and hands-on sessions, aimed at offering developer the possibility to learn more on how they can deliver impressive applications for the BlackBerry platform.

At the same time, the company confirmed that keynote speakers at the conference would be Gregory Wade - Managing Director, Southeast Asia; Tyler Lessard - Vice President, Global Alliances and Developer Relations; Mike Kirkup - Director, Developer Relations; or Chris Smith - Senior Director, BlackBerry Developer Platform.

Various RIM technical experts will be there to share details on the development of applications for the platform, along with developers who already delivered successful solutions for BlackBerry smartphones.

“There’s never been a better time for developers to create apps for the BlackBerry platform - not only is the user base thriving, but developers are being provided with a platform and tools that can foster truly powerful apps that customers will love,” Gregory Wade, Managing Director of RIM, Southeast Asia, said.

He also notes that DevCon Asia will offer developers the possibility to learn more on the development of apps for the new BlackBerry PlayBook tablet.
