When it comes down to gaming peripherals we can definitely say that there is no shortage of such devices, Mad Catz announcing yet another mouse, the R.A.T.9 Wireless Gaming Mouse, that is going to hit the streets under the company's Cyborg brand.

Joining together the already available Cyborg R.A.T. this mouse makes use of the 2.4GHz radio band in order to deliver an impressive response time, under 1ms according to the company.

Furthermore, its rechargeable Li-Ion battery power pack can provide users with an estimated 9 hours of battery life, this mouse also being packed with a stylish desktop charging unit that doubles as housing for the included weights.

Two additional power packs are also provided with the R.A.T.9 Wireless Gaming Mouse, these also featuring “hot swap” support, although Mad Catz didn't actually say what does this feature actually implies.

Similar to the previously released R.A.T.7 mice, gamers can individually set the x and y-axis DPI of the ‘twin eye’ 5600DPI laser sensor packed inside this thing and store 4 individual DPI settings which can be instantly recalled via an integrated toggle switch.

A so called “Precision Aim” mode comes standard also, thus allowing gamers to hold down a button and temporarily slow down cursor movement, steadying the aim during heated battle.

“Our range of Cyborg branded professional gaming mice demonstrates the appetite gamers have for an adjustable, professional quality gaming mouse.

The R.A.T.9 introduces a wireless alternative to the range, which we believe will prove highly appealing to a great many gamers,” said Darren Richardson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mad Catz.

Finally, the Cyborg R.A.T.9 Wireless Gaming Mouse will be available for $149.99, a pretty hefty price tag if you ask me, but, then again, gaming peripherals don't usually come cheap, especially when we are talking about Mad Catz.
