Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 has just been released by LucasArts and aims at continuing the saga of Starkiller, Darth Vader's secret apprentice, which takes place between the new Trilogy and the original one in the Star Wars universe.

The game promises to improve on the original Force Unleashed and polish up all of the hack and slash mechanics, while also making the Force powers seem much more powerful than in the first game.

Let's have a quick look and see if it actually achieved these things.

The beginning of the game seems a bit vague on the details though, so playing, or at least knowing what happened in the original Force Unleashed, is pretty much mandatory in order to make sense of what is going on.

That won't last long though, as you are quickly tossed into battle and Starkiller is looking extremely good in this second game.

His movements are more fluid this time around, and The Force Unleashed 2 delivers on the promise of making Force powers feel more impressive.

Starkiller's tricks are more powerful, especially if you opt to upgrade them, and regular troopers can hardly withstand his brutal combos or the objects he can Force Push at them.

Luckily, the game also throws in new types of enemies, some invulnerable to Force powers, others to regular lightsaber attacks, so you always use all of your powers, instead of just spamming one kind of attack (Force Lightning in my case).

Like any good LucasArts game, The Force Unleashed 2 also has quite a few unlockables, which can be earned if you take your time to explore the levels and know what to target.

Up until now, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 delivers a much more polished experience than its predecessor, and Starkiller's journey is off to a pretty promising start.

Let's hope that it will stay interesting up to the end.
