Dead Rising 2, the sequel to 2006's most surprising title, has now been officially revealed, and wants to deliver a more fleshed out experience, with a whole new hero, a new cast, a new location, but with all the zombie-killing fun that made the original so popular.

This time, war photographer Frank West has been replaced with stunt man Chuck Greene, who is forced to battle the undead horde in order to keep his daughter alive, alongside other survivors, not to mention clear a conspiracy that has been set up against him.

The game's start is a bit weird though, as Dead Rising 2 directly puts you behind the wheel of a motorbike with chainsaws attached to it, and tasks you with killing as much zombies as possible against other bikers.

It is revealed that this was just a part of the Terror is Reality TV show, which pits humans against zombies, and that you were just in it to make some money for your little girl.

Sadly, before you could get back to her, tragedy strikes and the undead horde invades the Las Vegas-inspired Fortune City, forcing you to seek out your girl and then flee to safety.

The gameplay mechanics are a bit wonky, to say the least, as Chuck isn't the most nimble of heroes, and his speed, at least for the first few levels, is downright horrible.

The driving mechanics are also very crude, at least on the bike, and expect a lot of stop and go moments if you hit any walls or furniture.

But the most important factor in Dead Rising 2 is how you kill zombies, and the game offers lots of possibilities, with practically everything surrounding Chuck being a possible weapon.

Sure, you could opt for a bat or an axe, but you can also grab shelves or trash cans and battle the zombies with them, not to mention combining different things and building even more outlandish weapons.

Even though they are a bit slower than Chuck, the undead pose a pretty serious threat, as they can easily grow in numbers and pounce on Chuck, easily killing him.

Overall, Capcom's Dead Rising 2 is still a pretty wonky game, despite the fact that it had lots of time to improve on the original's faults. Let's hope things get better towards the end of the game.
