Research in Motion has just announced the upcoming availability of the white BlackBerry Bold 9900 in Hong Kong. The smartphone will be available for purchase in the country beginning February 8.

Pure White BlackBerry Bold 9900 is now available for pre-order via RIM’s online store. The first 500 customers who pre-order the smartphone will also receive a free Jabra EASYGO White Bluetooth Headset worth of $348 HKD (45 USD or 35 EUR).

Unlike other smartphones, this one is entirely white, including the back cover and the front part of the device. At only 10.5mm, BlackBerry Bold 9900 is one of the thinnest BlackBerry 7 smartphones available on the market.

The phone offers both worlds and combines the advantages of a brilliant touchscreen display and those of a traditional BlackBerry QWERTY keyboard. Design-wise, the phone features the iconic BlackBerry Bold form factor with a generous display and a comfy keyboard.

The Bold 9900 is the first BlackBerry smartphone to offer users built-in support for NFC (Near Field Communications), allowing for mobile payments, pairing with NC-enabled accessories, as well as SmartPoster tags reading, all with a single tap.

RIM’s latest BlackBerry 7 operating system offers users a new and improved BlackBerry browser, which provides users with a significantly faster Internet browsing experience. In addition, the browser has been optimized with smoother zooming and panning, as well as HTML5 improved performance.

The phone is equipped with the most powerful CPU ever embedded into a BlackBerry smartphone, a single-core QC 8655 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz. Furthermore, the device packs 8GB of internal memory, 768 MB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

It also comes with a decent 2.8-inch capacitive touchscreen with 640 x 480 pixels resolution support, and optical trackpad. A 5-megapixel rear camera with HD (720p) video recording is available as well.
