Prysm's LPD is one example of a display technology which would probably do with more publicity, especially considering the many benefits over all other display solutions, so the company decided to create what it calls a new Digital Merchandising Experience.

The LPD (Laser Phosphor Display) technology is one that definitely gained some attention early last year.

Essentially, it is a sort of display built on solid state lasers and, thus, uses up to 75% less energy than backlit or projection technology-based products.

Additionally, the brightness is very high and the refresh rate is of 240 Hz (twice the one needed for 3D), while the viewing angle is of 178 degrees.

Basically, this is one large format display technology that can take various shapes and display crisp, bright images at virtually any resolution (it can scale, in size).

The company has now issued a press release in which it reveals that the stackable display tiles have now been grouped in the new Digital Merchandising Experience.

Simply put, Prysm is now offering Digital Mannequin, Digital Kiosk and Digital Widescreen LPD products.

The Digital Mannequin display, for instance, is a seven-feet tall solution for retail environments, like large stores, while, the Digital Widescreen is a full wall solution.

“We’ve seen a huge increase in interest from the world’s most innovative retailers and have quickly realized the need to expand our display solutions and geographic reach of our product to better accommodate customer demand,” said Amit Jain, CEO of Prysm.

“Prysm displays offer an unmatched freedom to design and create a whole new Digital Merchandising Experience, allowing customers to participate like never before.”

The Digital Mannequin has already been installed in “American Eagle Outfitter’s flagship SoHo store in New York.”
