Activision is one of the biggest firms in the gaming industry today. It has made a huge amount of money thanks to franchises like Guitar Hero or Call of Duty, for which it creates new iterations on a yearly or even more often basis.

But the company is also focused on new projects and properties, with the most interesting one being Prototype, the open world adventure of one Alex Mercer. He has been subjected to a series of experiments that have provided him a wide variety of super powers, which he can use for the good of mankind or for his own good.

We've already seen some details about the collector's edition of the game, which will sport a variety of goodies and swag according to the retailer that the gamer can order it from. During the E3 conference, the Prototype forums have seen the PC system requirements posted. Here they are:

OS: Windows XP (with Service Pack 3) and DirectX 9.0c or (Windows Vista with Service Pack 2) Video Card: 256 MB 3D hardware accelerator card required - 100% DirectX 9.0c with Shader Model 3 support* Processor: Pentium Intel Core 2 Duo 2.6 GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ or better RAM: 1 GB of RAM for Windows XP / 2 GB Windows Vista systems Hard Drive Space: 8 GB of uncompressed hard disk space (Plus 500MB for swap file.) *Supported Chipsets for Windows XP and Vista All NVIDIA GeForce 7800 256 MB and better chipsets All ATI Radeon X1800 256 MB and better chipsets.

Overall, the system requirements are quite high, but one must take into account the high-end graphics and the fact that it promises to let players experience very impressive and, at the same time, horrific powers.
