To jointly celebrate the impending launch of its revamped site and the fourth anniversary of the Xbox in Europe, Pro-G will be hosting a Halo 2 Slayer tournament on Xbox Live during the weekend of 18-19 March. The competition will be organized and run by industry veteran and AlienPants Marketing Director Luke 'Duke' Newcombe.

On day one, all registered players will take part in knockout-style heats, with the winning players proceeding to day two to compete in a 1vs1 finale tournament. Prizes will be awarded to the overall winner and runners-up, comprising of a selection of Xbox and Xbox 360 titles.

"The revamped Pro-G heavily focuses on community features and interaction, so we felt that a Halo 2 tournament would be a fitting celebration," said Adam McCann, Director of Operations at Pro-G. "The site is due to re-launch during the run-up to the tournament and we very much look forward to unveiling it and announcing the various new services and partnerships we have been building over the past few months."

"I've personally administered, run and sponsored over 200 Xbox Live tournaments over the past few years and Pro-G's Halo 2 anniversary tournament is set to be one the best," said Luke Newcombe. "Working with Pro-G on the forthcoming Halo 2 anniversary tournament has been great - gamers will be able to celebrate the fourth anniversary of the Xbox in style."
