14 DAY TRIAL // Ubisoft has released Mac versions of Prince of Persia and Shaun White Snowboarding thanks to its partnership with TransGaming, a company specializing in porting Windows games on Mac. Both titles require Mac OS X 10.5.6 or later to run.
Last month, Ubisoft announced signing an agreement with TransGaming Inc. to distribute Mac versions of its titles to gamers worldwide. TransGaming is known for using its Cider technology to port titles to the Macintosh platform, rapidly and efficiently. As for Ubisoft, the highly-acclaimed developer of video games revealed its intentions to begin releasing games for Mac starting with Prince of Persia and Shaun White Snowboarding to the Mac in March, this year.
The games were said to become available at Ubisoft's online digital store, GameTree Online and at traditional retail locations. Ubisoft also said that Mac versions of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Hard Evidence, Rayman Raving Rabbids and Petz Sports would be accompanying these two releases. Ubisoft made good on its promise; hence, the titles are now available immediately for the Mac platform.
“With a whole new Prince, storyline, open world environments, combat style, signature illustrative graphical style and the addition of Elika, a deadly new ally, Prince of Persia brings the franchise to new heights of deadly acrobatic, artistry,” Ubisoft says, describing the Mac version of Prince of Persia.
As for Shaun White Snowboarding, players enter a snowboarding world of “total freedom,” Ubisoft says. “You can create your own experience in this game, and choose when, where, how and with whom you want to ride.” The game has been developed in close collaboration with Olympic Gold Medalist Shaun White (the most successful snowboarder in history).
Ubisoft already has quite a few titles running on the Mac. Those include CSI: Hard Evidence, Petz Catz 2, Petz Dogz 2, Petz Sports, Prince of Persia The Two Thrones, and Rayman Raving Rabbids (all available solely via digital download).
